The Free Press!

The once great sentinel of the Free Press has betrayed us, exchanging the shield of integrity for the wealth of Midas. The Press, Business, and Government have become an unholy trinity, one being with three heads, a hydra whose goal is nothing short of global economic domination. The Constitution and the great democratic experiment have been murdered, slain by a demon with a sword of gold and a pen encrusted with the blood of freedom. Liberty dies with a whimper as the eagles responsible for protecting it become vultures greedily awaiting its last rasping breath...

In my opinion all religions are simply a limited minds attempt to understand the limitless. A creator(s) may exist. There may even be a being or beings that concern themselves with our existence. Evidence of either is sorely lacking. 

I personally don't have trouble believing in a creator despite the lack of evidence. For me it is difficult to look at the clockwork perfection of the universe and not see intelligence behind it. Even if 'God' does exist however I do not believe he/she/them/it are communicating with people past or present telepathically, inspiring them to create or follow a particular religion. Man indoctrinates his fellow man. God it seems is not concerned with such petty things...

If there is any way to actually know the 'creator' it is through 'his' works. If the universe was created then the universe itself and the laws that govern it are the only quantifiable data we have that may provide insight into the nature or will of this 'being'. Thus science is the only pursuit worthy of the title 'religion'. Unfortunately science does not provide insight into right and wrong, only true and false.

I personally find the idea of someone being stoned to death disturbing and disgusting, especially for something as pathetically egocentric as sexual ownership. Man kills his fellow man. God it seems is not concerned with such petty things...

Real Americans?

Some Christian Conservatives believe that for the first time in US history they are facing the prospect of becoming a minority. As this mythical day nears, their fear and insecurity is expressed in an ugly abstract paranoia of government , religious intolerance, and outright xenophobia.  Blinded by these perceived social and moral threats they cannot see that their true enemies are not those they fear but rather those that lead them to that fear. They do not seem to realize it is their media anointed messiahs that have snuffed the candles and left them afraid in the dark. 


Anyone that tells you to find compassion with anger or generosity with greed; seek knowledge with arrogance or wisdom with censorship; embrace freedom with fascism or liberty with bigotry; is neither prophet nor friend. You cannot love America by hating Americans.
